What is a lift gate and do I need one for my order?
A lift gate is hydraulic lift used to raise and lower heavy freight from the ground level to the level of the semi/trailer.
If your ship to address/facility has a dock high door/loading dock, you do not need a lift gate. Keep in mind, our LTL service provider DOES NOT allow customers to unload pallets using fork lifts.
You must select a lift gate during checkout if you DO NOT have a dock high door/loading dock at your ship to location or facility. If you DO NOT select this during checkout, you may be billed directly from the LTL provider. All residential deliveries require a lift gate and may be subject to a residential delivery fee as well.
